TCPL CEO to head merged firm
Article Abstract:
TransCanada PipeLines Ltd.'s president and CEO, George Watson, has agreed to manage the company formed by the merger of TransCanada and Nova Corp. As president and CEO of the merged company, Watson will receive salary, benefits and compensation of 36 months if his new job is terminated. Watson received C$1.02 million in 1997, which consisted of $590,000 in salary, $350,000 in bonus and $81,772 in other payouts. Meanwhile, Nova President Jeffrey Lipton has also signed an employment contract to become president and CEO of the chemicals company which will be spun off immediately after the merger is completed in early July 1998.
