Telus 'fearful' of arbitration outcome
Article Abstract:
Canada Industrial Relations Board ruled in January 2004 that Telus Corp. was in violation of the Canada Labor Code for interfering with a union's representation of its members and forced the company to offer binding arbitration. However, Telus is worried that settling the 3 and 1/2 year old labor dispute in binding arbitration would not produce the magnitude of change the company is looking for and hopes to win an appeal at the Board by the end of May 2004.
