Article Abstract:
Statistics show that an increasing number of women are being affected by the AIDS epidemic. They have been recognized as the fastest growing group ofAIDS victims as a result of heterosexual transmission from affected males. Nevertheless, private support groups have recognized the need for health policies to address such issue since women afflicted with AIDS can transmit thedisease to children, thus implying that a great majority of the population are at risk. But because initial research was devoted primarily to discovering its effects on males and the gay population, much remains to be known about AIDS effects on women.

Article Abstract:
The northern spotted owl is among the list of endangered species that requireprotection under the Endangered Species Act. Ironically, protecting the rare bird mean thousands of job workers displaced. The bitter feud between industrialists and environmentalists on the northern spotted owl is only a reflection of a bigger problem. The impact of environmental protection on the economy is usually damaging, an issue which the government has failed to resolve. Saving the environment need not deplete the economy if only other adjustments in the industry can be made.
