Supporters of the referendum to make Quebec a sovereign state have been surprised by the power of opposition leader Daniel Johnson. As head of the campaign for a 'no' vote on the referendum, Johnson has made convincing arguments for Canadian unity resulting in polls that show 'no' supporters leading by 5.6%.
