Thong and dance
Article Abstract:
Around 4,000 thongs were collected on a beach in north-east Arnhem Land during a 10-day World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) beach cleanup. WWF set out to determine the origins of the footwear, and concluded that the thongs were lost over board during transport. Bullet-holes were found in some of the product, indicative of a practice used to send lost product to the bottom of the sea.
