National Australia Banks (NAB) new boss, John Stewart is preparing to take a higher risk by launching Low-doc loans to turn around NAB's sticky profit performance and repair its share price in 2004. It has also moved to catch up with rivals by offering flat monthly fee transaction accounts, a no-annual-fee credit card, higher rates for cash management accounts, and a short-term home loan with low interest rates.

The survey conducted by the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) shows that the salaries in the service industry will show the highest gains of 4.9% in 2004-2005.
