Continental, United battle over carry-ons
Article Abstract:
Continental Airlines and United Airlines have engaged each other in a legal tussle about the size of carry-on bags. The altercation between the two airlines stems from the approval of United and other airlines X-ray scanning machines with templates of the sizes of carry-on bags. Continental opposed the measure, having spent millions of dollars to enlarge its overhead bins aboard jets, in addition to a marketing program promoting its liberal carry-on policy.
