Stores welcome Y2K returns

Retailers across the US will welcome returns of Y2K products. Generators, bottled water, batteries, and other Y2K-related merchandise can be returned for full refunds. Sears will accept all products for refunds, except geneators. Wal-Mart will offer refunds on all merchandise, even those that have no receipts. Other retailers accepting returns of Y2K merchandise include Kmart, Home Depot and Giant Food.

Funeral stores sell inevitable in style

A number of funeral parlors in the US have changed business strategies to better market their products and services. For instance, a Florida chain of three funeral stores, owned by Mark Panciera, has been given an interior design with department-store flair. Panciera explains that such design creates a homelike environment, thus making his stores less intimidating than funeral homes.
