The Australian task force codenamed Operation Catalyst are in Iraq's Al Muthana province as part of the post-invasion reconstruction are on a dangerous mission. They protect the unarmed Japanese military personnel involved in the rebuilding of schools, roads, medical facilities as well as training Iraqi recruits so that they will be able to take over the internal and external defence of Iraq, which is dangerous because Iraqi police and armed forces recruits across the country are prime targets of suicide bombers, car bombers and gunmen.
