The superannuation account holders in Australia have suffered a second year of bit time losses as nearly $50 billion was slashed from retirement savings since mid 2001, due to the global slump in share prices. This has hit people nearing retirement, who have started saving later in life and have to continue remaining in employment for at least several years into their retirement, to make up their losses.
