An individual choice model of energy mix
Article Abstract:
An approach is proposed to address conditions where the probability of observing zero expenditures on some form of energy is not equal to zero. The approach involves establishment of parameter restrictions that assure consistency of the cost minimizing model and its relationship to a generalized tobit model. It decomposes the choice of energy mix into to two segments, namely qualitative preference and quantitative decision.
