Isolation of a new 15-membered macrocyclic glycolipid lactone, cuscutic resinoside A from the seeds of Cuscuta chinensis: a stimulator of breast cancer cell proliferation
Article Abstract:
A pilot study found that a methanol extract of the seeds of Cuscuta chinensis (Convolvulaceae) has a stimulatory activity against estrogen-responsive human breast cancer MCF-7 cells. The results of the testings made are discussed, which suggested cuscutic resinoside A simulated cancer cell proliferation by a different mechanism from cuscutamine and kaempferol.

Anti-HIV-1 protostane triterpenes and digeranylbenzophenone from trunk bark and stems of Garcinia speciosa
Article Abstract:
Three new protostanes were isolated from the ethyl acetate fractions obtained from the crude methanol extracts of the trunk bark and stems of Garcinia speciosa. Some compounds showed significant inhibitory activities against HIV-1, and this work represents the first report on the anti-HIV-1 activities of the protostane triterpenes.
