American power and the philosophy of world-systems analysis

Immanuel Wallerstein, one of the pioneers of the world-systems theory argues that the capitalist system after a long time is in a systemic crisis and will not be able to recover. A bit of insight is provided into the central claims that form the basis of The Decline of American Power by Wallerstein for understanding and evaluating his belief.

Venue shopping, political strategy, and policy change: the internationalization of Canadian forest advocacy
Article Abstract:
The theory of venue shopping as laid out in Baumgartner and Jones and a more complicated analysis of its practice than most empirical studies to date are discussed. Advocacy groups may choose venues because of their beliefs about the root causes of a policy problem or the long-term viability of different policy solutions.
