Article Abstract:
The urban sprawl in the United States contributes significantly to global oil depletion and global warming, which can be totally understood within the political framework formulated by Karl Marx. His theories of value and rent help in understanding the use of oil fuels in relation to urban sprawl, which illustrates that the public policies which led to and support urban sprawl in the US is correlated to the dominating business affiliations of the policies.
