Big, little, littler: synthesizing Hatch Act-based political activity legislation research
Article Abstract:
The history of Hatch Act-based legislation and its effect on the political activity of government employees is presented. The Hatch Act and similar forms of legislation seeks to inhibit the political activity of government employees. This is to ensure the neutrality of civil servants and discourage the creation of conflicts of interest. Although subsequently ammended, Hatch Act-based legislation remains as a guarantee to ensure a politically neutral civil service.
