This article discusses Muslim thought and modernity. The author argues that Muslims must change their attitude toward their traditional interpretation of Islam if they are going to understand it authentically and if they want to become a part of the modern free world.

This article addresses the politics of liberal Islam. The author argues that even though liberal Islamic thought is predominant throughout the Muslim world it is politically suppressed and marginalized.

The elusive reformation

This article addresses Islam and democracy. The author argues an Islamic reformation is not necessary for democratization, however, political reform is necessary in the Muslim world.
