George F. Will and contemporary American conservatism
Article Abstract:
Columnist George F. Will is widely recognized in the US as a conservative commentator, one who analyzes current events in the light of enduring philosophical principles. And yet, many conservative writers cannot seem to accept his political philosophy as properly conservative. He has been harshly labeled by conservatives as a closet liberal, sailing under false colors and openly disdainful of conservatives' concerns. However, even if Will's proposed solutions are not always consistent with American temper, he challenges the conservatives to work for the common good and not merely for their own narrow agenda.
