Investment incentives and the multilateral agreement on investment
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the factors that will be monitored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development regarding 'positive' discrimination is discussed. Many nations, cognizant of the growing evidence correlating foreign investments and trade, are offering incentives which attract foreign investments. This incentives tend to draw away investments from other nations who are more in need of the investments. The incentives can take the form of tax incentives or other incentives such as soft loans or equity infusion.

Mutual recognition agreements: transatlantic parties and the limits to non-tariff barrier regionalism in the WTO
Article Abstract:
Trade law issues associated with the establishment of mutual recognition agreements that aim to eradicate internal non-tariff barriers associated with the trading of goods and services were examined. The establishment of a transatlantic marketplace was correlated with plans that address internal measures between territories supporting low tariff barriers. In addition, the application of the plurilateral requirements of the General Agreement on Trade in Services, Article VII to recognition for goods was also analyzed.

Competition policy and trade policy
Article Abstract:
Discussions regarding a 'one-world' concept in international trade are considered unrealistic and unattainable. Trade initiatives should focus on minimizing the effect of trade problems, such as discrimination in the implementation of domestic competition laws and the anti-competitive impact of trade remedy laws. World Trade Organization members should ensure that laws preventing the formation of export and import cartels are effectively formulated and implemented.
