Article Abstract:
A rebuttal to Martin D. Carcieri's article, 'the University of Michigan affirmative action cases and public personnel decisions,' is provided. It is argued that Carcieri's article presents an invitation to the acceptability of jeopardizing resources under overwhelming and intense budgetary pressure by nonengagement of a limited fashion, which is undesirable.

Analysis of police recruiting techniques and their effectiveness is given. Due to differing jurisdictions and trade offs between competing values, this paper addresses the question that there is no "one best way" to recruit police and law enforcement officers.

The Triumphs of techniques over purpose revisited
Article Abstract:
Research into the recruitment program and focus of police officers is given. The research suggest that a move from mathematical and logic based examinations in favor of behavioral based examinations would benefit police departments in their recruiting.
