On the absence of war
Article Abstract:
Ethnic conflict has been considered a growth industry with the collapse of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. Ethnic wars, however, have not occurred between many of the former Soviet republics. All the armed ethnic conflicts in the former Soviet Union involved ethnic and sometimes integral nationalisms, contested borders and territories, and economic disparity.
