Osama bin Laden: financier of "desert" Islam
Article Abstract:
Gaber Asfour, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt, sees two opposing interpretations of Islam, one involving tolerant peoples of the so-called Islam of the rivers and the other involving intolerance of the Islam of the desert. The latter interpretation is fanatic, does not respect the diversity of opinions and promotes a single creed and a single view of religion. Osama bin Laden, a Saudi Arabian multimillionaire suspected of masterminding and funding terrorist activities, is a product of desert Islam.

Ephemeral monopoly
Article Abstract:
Kevin Kelly, author of 'Out of Control' and executive editor of 'Wired' shares his views on the mergers of giant conglomerates. He says monopolies are no longer the monsters they had been.
