Promises, promises
Article Abstract:
Turkey is the country that is most nervous about the sudden uncertainty surrounding the European Union and following years of promises, talks on its membership are scheduled to start in October, 2005. The crisis in the European Union has paradoxically raised Turkey's stocks in general and the prospect of Turkey is very bad for all parties as tossed away by the European Union.

Lithuanians were among the first of the European Union's twenty-five member states to ratify the treaty for the new constitution, and by parliamentary process, nor a referendum. Ten other members would have referendums starting with Spain in March 2005.
