Religion and global affairs: Islamic religion and political order
Article Abstract:
Politics in Muslim states have been strongly influenced by religion. However, issues such as the threats posed by an Islamic form of government on democracy and the use of religion to promote social and political justice continue to be debated. Muslim scholars are urged to prevent the erosion of the Muslim political order by determining common moral concerns for peace and justice within the political landscape of Muslim countries.

Religion and global affairs: religious activation and democracy in Latin America
Article Abstract:
Religion is undergoing a renaissance in Latin America as evidenced by the interest shown by scholars and the development of new forms of charismatic worship by Evangelical Christians. It is argued that the re-emergence of religion is due to the increased freedom brought about by the region's transition to a democracy during the 1980s. Christians will play a key role in promoting democracy in the future.
