Article Abstract:
The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) includes strict verification provisions for the inspection of chemical weapons facilities worldwide. The CWC calls for a preliminary declaration of chemical weapons stockpiles, and includes provisions for regular on-site and challenge inspections by a well-trained team of inspectors. The CWC provisions will, however, need to be carefully balanced between the inspecting and inspected nations for it effective implementation.
