Truth and experience of epoch in history: a Voegelinian perspective
Article Abstract:
Governmental changes on the national scene reflect the existentialist desires of human beings. The phenomenon of old order replacing new systems is true for all socio-political changes and supports the cosmic reality of ephemerism. The collapse of communism in the former Soviet Union and changes in several Western democracies depict the ideological changes in human behavior and expectations. The philosophy of Eric Voegelin, particularly his focus on the spiritual meaning of personal resistance to the untrue in social and political structure, is employed to examine recent social and political change.

Eric Voegelin, philosopher of consciousness
Article Abstract:
Eric Voegelin saw consciousness as derived from history. His work 'Anamnesis' is subtitled 'Toward a Theory of History and Politics,' and his view of history is cosmological. He engages at a deeper and higher level than is common with intellectuals. His work is based on his own experiences in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and later under Nazism. He migrated to the US, and sought to understand the ideological crisis which included Marxism and Nazism, and the spiritual breakdown which gave rise to this crisis.

Voegelin and dogmatism: the case of natural law
Article Abstract:
Eric Voegelin's studies on the right by nature and about the nature of nature generated a radical view on natural law. Voegelin's concerns on natural law correlates with his views on its origins. He characterizes natural law from the Stoics' establishment of a dogma that supported the mismanagement of symbols designed to promote the experience of fitting participation in reality. In addition, Voegelin's other works further support his views on personal and social order.
