U.S., Allies create consortium for Korean nuclear deal
Article Abstract:
The United States, South Korea and Japan formally set up the international consortium for supervising, funding and constructing two nuclear reactors in North Korea. This is in exchange for Pyongyang's suspension of its nuclear weapons program. This is seen as a step towards the implementation of the U.S.-North Korean nuclear framework agreement. The chief U.S. negotiator, Robert Gallucci, opined that he would press for UN sanctions if North Korea restarts its nuclear program.
