A paradigm shift in the study of development
Article Abstract:
R.S. Siegler's book 'Emerging Minds' provides the reader with a clear and well-defined map for a new paradigm focusing on the domain of microgenesis as a process-oriented approach to studying cognitive development. This new paradigm offers a variety of theory, methods and standards. Siegler also offers the wave theory for interpreting the microgenetic method and supplements it with an analytic scheme. Overall, the book provides a wealth of information, outlines directions for further research and designs a new agenda for cognitive development.

Why perceiving produces ontological knowledge
Article Abstract:
The theory-theory of cognitive development was presented. The theory was considered as such, due to the results of the study of Gibson et al., in which infants, as young as three months, were found capable of learning different object motions in their world on the basis of perceptual experience. The results were disregarded for it oppose the dogma of cognitivism. Reed argued that if the Gibsonian finding of perceptual experience is considered correct then, literature accounts of cognitive psychology and science will be wrong.
