Anaerobic bacterial empyema accompanying intrathoracic gas formation in anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
A young woman with anorexia nervosa (AN) showed empyema with intrathoracic gas formation by an anaerobic bacterium. It is suggested that physicians should be alert to the possibility of serious infection in patients with AN, even when they have few complaints or normal white blood cell counts.

A transient lesion in splenium of the corpus callosum in a patient with childhood-onset anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
A case study of a 15-year-old girl with childhood-onset anorexia nervosa (AN) and a transient lesion in splenium of the corpus callosum is described. Results suggest that patients with childhood-onset AN benefit by treatment with B-vitamin supplementation.
