Assessment of anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
Several conceptual issues related to assessment of anorexia nervosa (AN) are reviewed, a brief description of standardized assessment instruments available is provided, and challenges inherent to assessment of AN are highlighted. It is intended to facilitate the development of an appropriate assessment battery for varying purposes and provide direction for future research initiatives.

Diagnostic criteria for anorexia nervosa: Looking ahead to DSM-V
Article Abstract:
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM) is a helpful communication tool, yet may not always reflect a clinically useful picture or depiction of nature. The concern that exists about the DSM-IV system is that the majority of patients who are treated in most clinical settings for eating disorders do not meet full criteria for anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa.

Solving the complex puzzle of the incidence of anorexia nervosa one piece at a time
Article Abstract:
The epidemiologic research of anorexia nervosa is presented to narrow the scope of search to detect the haystack. It is proposed that population-based studies will produce different estimates from studies based on treatment-seeking samples and hence the calculation of the incidence rates is also attributed to various parameters like age range and gender of the sample studied.
