Body fat, caloric intake, and plasma leptin levels in women with anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
There is a connection between caloric intake and plasma leptin levels in anorexic and control women. However, caloric intake did not substantially improve the multivariate regression model of plasma leptin concentrations used in this research. Investigations of the role of leptin in obesity have shown that the greater the level of adiposity, the higher the leptin levels. This research indicates that the same principle applies at the other end of the percent body fat spectrum.

Pilot study of a graded exercise program for the treatment of anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the use of a graded exercise programme in the treatment of anorexia nervosa are discussed. Use of a graded exercise programme may boost compliance with treatment, but does not reduce the short-term rate of gain of body fat or body mass index.
