Cognitive science and genetic epistemology: a case study of understanding
Article Abstract:
Psychologists David Leiser and Christine Gillieron explore the character of Jean Piaget's logicomathematical structures in their book, 'Cognitive Science and Genetic Epistemology: A Case Study of Understanding.' The two Genevan trained authors investigate the link between the use of these logicomathematical structures and the process by which tasks are performed by children. Lieser and Gillieron assert that the clarification of this linkage between structure and observation could serve as a foundation for an in-depth analysis of the relations between cognitive science and genetic epistemology.

Furthering our understanding of what humans understand
Article Abstract:
Human infants display the unique way in which humans communicate through gestures. Numerousity and pointing, in particular, are appreciated by infants in their first year of life. Among the sources used by infants for symbolic gesturing are their own actions with objects, a physical action within a particular context, and the nature of the objects themselves.
