Criterion-related validity of the psychopathic personality inventory in a prison sample

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine the criterion-related validity of the psychopathic personality inventory (PPI) in a prison sample. The PPI and the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCR) were administered to a sample of 50 adult youthful offender prison inmates. Results are in agreement with a growing body of empirical data indicating that inflated perceptions of self-worth may classify a subgroup of criminal or delinquent offenders that are at risk of engaging in increased antisocial behavior and levels of violence.

Criterion-related validity of the Psychopathic Personality Inventory in a prison sample

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the criterion-related validity of the Psychopathic Personality Inventory utilized in a prison sample. Different aspects of psychopathy were determined using three validity scales and different response sets. Results indicated that low correlations associated between self-report and other measures of psychopathy do not reflect an inherent problem with the application of a self-report format.

Construct validity of the psychopathic personality inventory two-factor model with offenders

Article Abstract:

Two offender data sets that consisted of scores on the Psychopathic Personality Inventory (PPI) along with other theoretically crucial criterion variables are reanalyzed. The results show the importance of examining facets as well as total scores of psychopathy.
