Crossing the Quality Chasm: Reforming behavioral health services through community collaborations
Article Abstract:
The Institute of Medicine (IOM) and President's New Freedom Commission (NFC) presented their reports on mental health care in the United States. The IOM reported a renewed definition of health care quality, which includes six cores, aims and ten operational rules and NFC identified mental health system in order to change goals, but neither reports laid out a clear and direct strategy for efficient large systems change.

The day/night clinic complex: A new kind of psychiatric facility
Article Abstract:
The removal of certain strict limitations has opened up the potential for a varied utilization of day, night and 24 hours, more intensive pharmacotherapy and the application of anti-relapse therapies. Studies reveal that the intermediate status of this new psychiatric facility makes them the better choice for patients and their families in many respects.
