Developmental increase in working memory span: resource sharing or temporal decay?
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning strains placed on working memory while information is simultaneously stored and processed are examined, focusing on experiments conducted in children's memory performance. Topics include previous work by J.N. Towse and G. J. Hitch, and evidence of limitations in both the time in which a task can be accomplished and the memory resources needed to accomplish the task.

Delays of retention, processing efficiency, and attentional resources in working memory span development
Article Abstract:
The issues related to the delays in retention, processing efficiency and attentional resources in working memory span development are addressed. It is seen that the working memory spans depend on the extent to which the processing component allows attention switching, the cognitive load and the cognitive resources that are available for coping with this constraint.

Does domain knowledge moderate involvement of working memory capacity in higher-level cognition? A test of three models
Article Abstract:
A study evaluated three hypotheses concerning the interplay between the factors that include the compensation hypothesis, rich-get-richer hypothesis, and independent influence hypothesis. Research suggests that both working memory capacity and domain knowledge contribute to individual differences in higher-level cognition.
