Diagnosing the search cost effect: waiting time and the moderating impact of prior category knowledge
Article Abstract:
The two types of search cost, namely, cognitive search cost which uses prior category knowledge and external search cost in which information is obtained through waiting times, were examined to identify their effects on search. The study focused on the interaction effect on search of prior knowledge and waiting time in a computer search environment. Results show that only in low waiting time conditions does knowledge facilitate search and that a more complex search is done by high knowledge consumers.

Knowledge of profit and interest among children in Canada
Article Abstract:
The relationship between sociodemographic factors and knowledge of profit and interest among Canadian children is investigated. The mothers' educational attainment and teaching of economic principles at home were positively correlated with economic maturity. Paternal effects and effects of other factors on child's knowledge were not observed. These results indicate the importance of home learning environment on a child's social and economic cognition.

Price knowledge and search behavior for habitual, low involvement food purchases
Article Abstract:
A model for price knowledge and search behavior for frequently purchased food products is presented. Three different models are tested, and the most efficient model is the adaptive rationality model because the learning of price information for perishables is relatively adaptive in nature. Therefore, consumer demand for frequently bought perishables should be relatively price inelastic on any occasion.
