Eating disorders and Axis I psychiatric comorbidity in amenorrheic women
Article Abstract:
A study of eating disorders and psychiatric morbidity in a nonpsychiatric population of amenorrheic women reveals a high incidence of eating disorders among hypogonadic and hyperandrogenic women. Anorexia was common among hypogonadic women while binge eating was prevalent among women with hyperanodrogenism. Moreover, several Axis I diagnoses were found among secondary amenorrheic patients. Significant psychiatric comorbidity was discovered in amenorrheic women with an eating disorder although this was also observed in amenorrheic women without an abnormal eating disorder.

Binge eating disorder, retention, and dropout in an adult obesity program
Article Abstract:
Binge status is the major factor in determining dropout and retention in the study of control of weight. The factors responsible for the reduction of high rate of dropout and enhancement of adherence to weight reduction program are identified by classifying the subgroups among the obese individuals. The drop out of treatment is more pronounced among the binge eaters compared to that of the nonbinge eaters. The result of the analysis of a Cox proportional hazards survival shows that binge status greatly resist the dropout.
