Eating pathology, fat avoidance, and serum estradiol concentrations in young women
Article Abstract:
Fat avoidance is a predominant dietary characteristic and is related to greater degree of eating pathology in normal young women. The energy intake at luteal phase is associated with serum estradiol concentration at day 28 of the menstrual cycle. A very low dietary fat and energy intake is associated with greater degree and increased risk of developing eating disorders. Significant differences fail to exist in the nutrient or energy intake at luteal and follicular phases.
