Engaging teachers in an eating disorder preventive intervention
Article Abstract:
The study evaluated the effectiveness at 1-year follow-up of psychoeducational eating disorders preventive intervention implemented by specifically trained teachers. Results indicated that data showed that a disturbing number of the girls who were asymptomatic at baseline had developed a full or partial eating disorder 1 year later and subjects in the prevention group differed significantly from the control group at the 1-year follow-up.

Differences between binge eating disorder and nonpurging bulimia nervosa
Article Abstract:
Binge eating disorder (BED) differs from nonpurging bulimia nervosa (BN-NP) due to the absence of fasting and intense physical exercise. Patients with BED and BN-NP were investigated to assess the differences with regard to age and the route to binge eating. The study confirmed the substantial differences between BED and BN-NP patients, supporting the distinction made by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-IV.
