Event clusters: an organization of personal events in autobiographical memory
Article Abstract:
The organization of autobiographical memory was investigated using event cuing, a modified version of the standard cuing task used to examine the temporal distribution of personal events, the hierarchical organization of autobiographical memory and relative cuing efficiency of various concepts. Results showed that memorable personal events are frequently embedded in event clusters irrespective of age or importance. Furthermore, events organized by these clusters are often temporally proximate, causally related and similar in content.

The trouble with language: experiential avoidance, rules, and the nature of verbal events
Article Abstract:
Human functioning can be adversely affected by experiential avoidance, in which private thoughts and experiences are avoided, but experiential avoidance cannot be easily undermined as it is inherent in human language. Verbal knowledge is bidirectional, so that the psychological meaning of an event and description changes with the symbolic interaction between a verbal human and the event. Behavior acquired by direct experience is often more responsive to environmental changes than behavior learnt by specific instructions.
