Exploring the covariation between anxiety and depression symptoms: A genetic analysis of the effects of age and sex
Article Abstract:
A study of data from the register for Child Twins from the Institute of Child Health has revealed that genetic factors play a greater role in the self-reporting of anxiety and depression in adolescent boys, than in girls, who are more influenced by a shared environment. The Childrens Depression Inventory and Trait Scale of the State Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children was completed by 490 pairs of twins aged between 8 and 16.

Deficient orthographic and phonological representations in children with dyslexia revealed by brain activation patterns
Article Abstract:
The neuro-cognitive network of visual word rhyming judgment in children with dyslexia is examined with the help of conflicting and non-conflicting trials using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The study demonstrates that children with dyslexia have a deficit in a left hemisphere network involved in reading, including inferior frontal gyrus, inferior parietal lobule and middle and ventral temporal cortex.
