Family process variables and children's disruptive behavior problems
Article Abstract:
Marital, parent-child, and family processes were studied for four groups of 7-11 year old boys and their families, including boys with no behavioral problems, those with behavioral problems linked to attentional deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and those with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). A discriminant analysis using just marital and family factors could correctly classify families into one of the four behaviour problem groups with almost 90% accuracy.
