Further evidence of the validity of the Suicide Risk Assessment Scale for prisoners
Article Abstract:
The Suicide Risk Assessment Scale (SRAS), which is comprised of nine items, was applied to 44 inmates and then compared to assessments performed by institutional psychologists based on suicidal risk, suicidal urgency, referral appropriateness, and the need for either short- or long-term watch. SRAS was judged to be an effective test.

Prevalence of mental disorders and deliberate self-harm in Greek male prisoners
Article Abstract:
Data is presented on 80 randomly selected Greek prisoners who were assessed for mental disorders, including substance misuse and suicidal tendencies. Evaluation of intellectual functioning is also included.

Deliberate self-harm and suicide attempt in custody: distinguishing features in male inmates' self-injurious behavior
Article Abstract:
Research shows differences between prisoners who attempt suicide and those who inflict deliberate self-harm. Demographic and prison-related variables and measures of depression are also discussed.
