Group therapy for depressed elderly women
Article Abstract:
A group therapy program targeting depression among elderly residents (N=303) of subsidized high-rise apartments in Nashville, TN is described and evaluated. A multivariate regression analyses of pre-post measures using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) showed that the effects of the group therapy varied by race, age and level of initial depression among participants.

Group therapy for bipolar patients
Article Abstract:
A randomized trial on the efficacy of group psychoeducation in the prophylaxis of recurrences in bipolar patients and group cognitive behavioral therapy for bipolar disorder are the two studies undertaken. These studies suggest that psychoeducation techniques may result in improved medication compliance.
