HIV-specific social support predicts less sexual risk behavior in gay male couples
Article Abstract:
The utility of measuring HIV-specific social support and its predictive ability related to HIV risk behavior is demonstrated by using a relatively small sample of gay couples. The couples that reported greater levels of HIV-specific social support engaged in less HIV risk behavior at each time point as well as longitudinally.

Research on how social control in personal relations affects physical health. Results suggest social control tends to predict health-enhancing behavior and distress more accurately than health-compromising behavior.
