How representations of the parental marriage predict marital emotional attunement during the transition to parenthood
Article Abstract:
A study examined how husbands' and wives' representations of their own parents' marriages related to emotional attunement in their marriage during the transition to parenthood. It was seen that husbands and a significant number of wives who insightfully recalled disharmonious content of their parents' marriages showed greater residualized postnatal emotional attunement towards their partners compared to the husbands and wives with positive recall and high insight.
