Intergroup collective induction
Article Abstract:
Intergroup collective induction pertains to the cooperative search for generalizations, rules and principles by groups who work separately on a common problem, but share hypotheses and evidence. The concept was examined using two separate four-member groups which exchanged hypotheses and evidence on each trial in solving the same rule induction problem. There was strong evidence for mutually supportive influence when both groups simultaneously proposed the correct hypothesis and received it from the other group.

Nonunique vulnerability: singular versus distributional probabilities and unrealistic optimism in comparative risk judgments
Article Abstract:
Individual perceptions about vulnerability to negative life events depend on whether these affect generalized or familiar targets. It is argued that the optimistic bias in favor of the self declines when compared to a familiar peer. On the other hand, individuals possess an 'illusion of nonunique invulnerability when compared to general or abstract targets by seeing themselves as less vulnerable to negative events.
