Article Abstract:
Marital status is not significantly connected with body dissatisfaction, according to research among 16,377 respondents to a survey on weight and eating issues undertaken by Consumer Reports magazine and Yale University. Body dissatisfaction arises at comparable levels among married and unmarried people. The level of marital disharmony is significantly connected with body image disturbance when controlling for the effects of self-esteem, gender, age and body mass index.
