New conceptualizations of practice: common principles in three paradigms suggest new concepts for training
Article Abstract:
Training procedures in psychology are studied. The training process had always been rooted towards two goals, to support posttraining performance in the long term and to enable people who were trained to adapt the training principles to related tasks but of different contexts and situations. To achieve these goals trainors have always emphasized on performance and speed improvement procedures. However, a study of methodologies in three training paradigms suggest these emphases may be detrimental in training.

When predictions create reality: judgments of learning may alter what they areintended to assess
Article Abstract:
Results of most learning experiments indicate that subjects' judgments of learning (JOLs) are usually inaccurate. However, a past study reported contrasting results. The accurate decisions made by the subjects in this study were attributed to the delay of JOL. The time span between learning and JOL is used by subjects to make recall attempts, thus enabling them to predict future performance.

Psychological science can improve diagnostic decisions
Article Abstract:
This article presents new methods used to increase accuracy and utility in diagnostic decision-making. Examples involving the diagnosis of cancer and the prediction of violent behavior are used to demonstrate these statistical and scientific diagnostic techniques.
