On developing self-concepts: a controlled study of children and adolescents with autism
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze the self-concepts of two groups of children and adolescents with autism. It was assumed that those with autism would support limited knowledge on self-concepts. Findings showed that those with autism generated fewer statements in the social category of self-concept. Results also indicated no group variations in the overall production of verbally expressed ideas related to self-attributes of a physical, active or psychological kind.
