Perceived expressed emotion in the siblings and parents of hospitalized patients with anorexia nervosa
Article Abstract:
The link between rates of perceived Expressed Emotion (EE) of the siblings and parents of patients hospitalized with anorexia nervosa and effect on weight gain and psychological functioning was examined. Perceived EE was found not to be predictive of body mass index (BMI) change following six weeks of hospitalization. Perceived family EE was a major predictor of change on the Interpersonal Distrust, Maturity Fears and Perfectionism scales of the Eating Disorder Inventory 2.

Perceptions of bed rest by anorexic patients
Article Abstract:
A standard way of restoring the body weight of individuals with anorexia nervosa is through the the operant conditioning program, which involves the Bed Rest (BR) component. However, a survey regarding the perception of anorexic patients on BR showed that most of them see this treatment as promoting boredom and isolation. They suggest that BR treatment should be more individualized and less restricted.
